The 91影视 Foundation hosted its annual Legacy Gala, raising more than $50,000 91影视 student scholarships.
The event featured a live and silent auction, dinner, and remarks from students who discussed the importance of education and people who encourage them in their lives and those of their peers.
鈥淭he gala is about celebrating the power of higher education and the accomplishments of the giants that we stand on the shoulders of, as well as those who are just starting their journey,鈥� said Dr. Tim Faltyn, 91影视 President. 鈥淥ur Foundation is an important partner and we are grateful for the ways that they support our students through scholarships.鈥�
91影视 students Ayli Minor and Kason Mitchell remarked on their journeys and how 91影视 has played an essential role in developing a path forward.
鈥淭here were times along the way where I didn鈥檛 get the support I needed. But when I arrived at 91影视, I felt something different,鈥� Mitchell said. 鈥淭he faculty and staff here really care. They work with you. They want to see you succeed.鈥�
鈥淭ransitioning from high school to college challenged me,鈥� said Minor. 鈥淏ut I鈥檝e learned that when you鈥檙e in the right environment, you grow into who you鈥檙e meant to be. And that鈥檚 exactly what Murray gave me 鈥� the space to grow, to adjust, and to find my place and build on my passion.鈥�
Gala guests demonstrated remarkable philanthropy throughout the evening, participating in auctions and games. The gifts will ensure the foundation's long-term sustainability and give students critical dollars to further their education.
鈥淚 am always in awe of the support we receive from our community,鈥� said Jordyn Frazier, 91影视 Foundation Executive Director. 鈥淎yli and Kason represent an entire student population who aren鈥檛 just dreaming of what鈥檚 possible, they are pursuing it. We are grateful to our donors and partners who are giving back to invest in their future.鈥�
The evening concluded with President Faltyn honoring Fred Chapman, Jr. longstanding partner to 91影视, with the Legacy Award. The award was created to recognize those whose enduring support has significantly enriched the communities impacted by 91影视. It highlights contributions beyond the ordinary, reflecting a profound impact on the college's mission and the advancement of its goals.
鈥淭he Chapman Family鈥檚 support of our college over the years has made a true impact on our students and will be generations,鈥� said President Faltyn. 鈥淭he incredible life of Mr. Chapman is an example for us all. One of service, civic duty, leadership, and the pursuit of building up the next generation of farmers and ranchers. He is a mentor, friend, and great American.鈥�
